Angel Delight Ice Cream

Story location: Home / food_and_drink /
25/Jul/2005

When we were in Aberystwyth over the weekend, we picked up a copy of the Somerfield magazine from the supermarket. There were a few good recipes in there which looked worth trying. One which caught our eyes was the Angel Delight Ice Cream, which was actually in the childrens cooking section. It was very simple to make:

  • Make the Angel Delight in the usual way
  • Put it in the freezer for 4 hours

It turned out to be a bit too hard - we possibly should have let it thaw slightly before eating.

OK really weird... I'm a student at Aberystwyth, I was doing a search for a recipe, the first page that came up was yours - I clicked it, and there I see the words "when we were in Aberystwyth"... so I half-felt the need to send you a comment telling you, and thanking you for the recipes... then on your "how many animals do you sex" box on this page, there are two roborovski dwarf hamsters... I recently bought a Roborovski dwarf - not the most common type of hamster - from the pet shop just next to the Somerfield in Aberystwyth that you mentioned! Ok, I'll shut up now...

Somerfield

I think Somerfield has moved since I was in Aber. It used to be next to the railway station but there were plans to move it further down the road towards the police station.
I don't know any pet shop near there - the one I knew was 'Pets and Brews' in the middle of town. That was where I used to buy my homebrew supplies from but was also where I first saw the roborovski hamsters. They had a tank with a lot of tiny ones in and it looked like they should be sold by the scoop rather than individually.
