Measuring cups and their volume, along with the equivalent weights - these are only applicable for general purpose white flour or granulated sugar.

These may be found in various American recipes.
- 1 cup is 8 fluid ounces of liquid or solid
- 1 stick of butter is the same as 1 cup (i.e. 4oz or 110g)
