Grandaddy no more

Story location: Home / Blog / music /
29/Mar/2006

I was listening to last nights Mark Radcliffe Show on my way to work this morning and he was talking to Jason Lyttle, from the band Grandaddy. One of the things they talked about was the band splitting up. The Sophtware Slump was one of my favourite albums and it was a shame to hear that the band were no more. Hopefully Jason's next project, either solo or with another band, will produce some more great albums.

I'm presently listening to Below the radio, the compil album given by Jason Lyttle (sorry for my very bad english, i am from montreal, french speaking) wich made me fall in love just more with him. I feel like moving to montano, search for him and play Cribbage with him forever. I am a fan of grandaddy as you seem to be, as sad as you when i heard the group would disappear. When i first listened to What happened to the fambly cat, il got caught by the music, fabulous as usual. Then i read the lyrics (they broke my heart) and i realized Lyttle was giving to us, simply, with humility, a testimony of where he has arrived in his life. A deep, spiritual and honnest confession that made me love him only more. Sorry if i seem too sentimental but his songs give me the shivers. All i hope is that he keeps , with his own songs and that he becomes happy more and more so that he can communicate his happiness through his songs like he was able to transmit what and how he was feeling through his Fambly cat. Come on, Jason, don't force me to look for you in Montana, this is much too far from Canada.
