Garden and Hallway

Our hallway, with painted walls and the carpet down. We've not cut the carpet fully to size yet - we're going to leave it down a day or so to 'rest' before we finish it.

The clematis, growing up the trellis we've attached to the fence. There's a split in the a fence panel here so we thought the trellis would cover it.

What's left of the courgettes, planted in th corner of the garden. The green bamboo screen is to cover up the gap at the bottom of the fence. There is only about 4-5 inches of soil here, then there is a concrete base. We don't remember finding concrete when we dug the hole for the clematis so it's probably only in this corner. We scraped a lot of the soil away to find the edges but it was too big and we decided to leave it. Next year, we're going to mound up the soil a bit better to give some root depth. But we now know we can't plant anything here which needs deep roots.

Something has been eating our herbs. Possibly slugs but the rain will have washed away any trails. The tarragon has completely gone, as has most of the parsley. The stuff in the middle is camomile. Whatever has eaten the herbs has completely eaten the marigolds too.
